Based on the life and work of Ida Kerkovius, who was a member of the founding committee “Council of Ten” of the Künstlerbund Baden-Württemberg established in 1955, two additional female artists from later generations and their artistic positions and self-perceptions are presented as exemplary for the life and work of women artists. Taking part in the discussion are Simone Demandt, chairwoman of the Künstlerbund Baden-Württemberg, and Christina Lehnert, chief curator of the Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden.

From the 1950s to Today: The History of the Künstlerbund Baden-Württemberg and Its Visualization in the Exhibition Same Place – Different Time

Accompanying the current exhibition, this evening offers a look into the past of the Künstlerbund Baden-Württemberg and recounts its history from its beginnings in the 1950s to the present day, using selected contemporary historical documents.
