The title for Pedro Gómez-Egaña comes from a short story by science fiction writer Isaac Asimov, The Last Question. At the center of a dark room lit by a candle with a soft light a metal structure with wooden boxes stands up, like a mysterious puzzle. These forms can be opened and closed, allowing the sound from the small speakers inside to be modulated. The artist operates the doors of the boxes, changing the volume and resonance of tones and looped instrumental phrases.
